Woodridge train station upgrade

Woodridge station is being upgraded to improve accessibility, safety and customer experience. 

The new train station will feature a range of improvements to make travel easier for customers and the community, including:

  • a new underpass
  • straightened and raised platforms
  • increased platform coverage
  • new lifts
  • improved park ‘n’ ride facilities.

The Woodridge train station upgrade will be designed and constructed in compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) to provide and improve accessibility for all users.

As part of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project, we will upgrade the Trinder Crossing level crossing between Railway Parade and Station Road, Woodridge.

Key features

As part of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project, the Woodridge train station upgrade will provide:

  • improved station accessibility with new lifts, straightened and raised platforms, hearing loops, accessible car parks and flush kerbing  
  • a new 15m wide underpass from Railway Parade to Station Road for pedestrians and bicycle riders, providing ease of movement and a direct line of sight from one side the other 
  • improved safety and customer experience with lighting and CCTV throughout the station, underpass and car park, and increased platform coverage
  • improved park ‘n’ ride and kiss ‘n’ ride facilities to make accessing the station easier
  • better active transport connections and a secure bicycle enclosure

Trinder Crossing level crossing upgrades

We are removing the Trinder Crossing level crossing between Railway Parade and Station Road, Woodridge. A new road-over-rail bridge will be constructed at Acacia Road, with new local road connections through to Smith Road. The new bridge will be closer to the relocated Trinder Park train station

Pedestrian connections will be provided over the rail corridor at Smith Road.

Current status

We are currently reviewing your feedback from the community engagement we held between November and December 2023 with findings to be released in early 2024. 

The procurement process started in late 2023 and we expect to appoint contractors by late 2024, subject to government approvals.

Construction timeframes will be confirmed once contractors have been appointed.
