Featured road projects
Our Roads Implementation Program outlines road projects taking place across Queensland.
Below is a list of some major projects taking Queensland into the future:
Ipswich Motorway/Logan Motorway interchange
- Major reconstruction of the interchange at Gailes and 2 km stretch of the Ipswich Motorway between Goodna and Gailes.
- Due for completion mid-late 2009.
Gateway Motorway/Gateway upgrade project
- Duplication of the existing Gateway Bridge and upgrade of 20 km of the Gateway Motorway between Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road and Nudgee Road.
- Upgrade also includes a second access to Brisbane Airport.
- Due for completion 2011.
Sunshine Motorway
- Upgrade of the Sunshine Motorway to four lanes between Maroochydore Road and David Low Way.
- Almost completed.
Caloundra Road
- Upgrade of Caloundra Road to four lanes, between Bruce Highway and Pierce Avenue. New interchange at Racecourse Road.
- This will provide access to the new Caloundra Regional Business and Industry Park.
- Due for completion mid 2009.
Forgan Bridge replacement
- New four-lane bridge over the Pioneer River, Mackay.
- Due for completion in 2009.
Bundaberg Ring Road
- Provides an alternative arterial route around Bundaberg. The road will be 14.3 km long.
- Due for completion in 2009.
Regional bridge renewal
- An initiative to replace all timber bridges and older concrete and steel structures in poor condition.
- The renewal will take place over the next 15 to 20 years.
