Featured road projects

Our Roads Implementation Program outlines road projects taking place across Queensland.

Below is a list of some major projects taking Queensland into the future:

Ipswich Motorway/Logan Motorway interchange

Major reconstruction of the interchange at Gailes and 2 km stretch of the Ipswich Motorway between Goodna and Gailes.
Due for completion mid-late 2009.

Gateway Motorway/Gateway upgrade project

Duplication of the existing Gateway Bridge and upgrade of 20 km of the Gateway Motorway between Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road and Nudgee Road.
Upgrade also includes a second access to Brisbane Airport.
Due for completion 2011.

Sunshine Motorway

Upgrade of the Sunshine Motorway to four lanes between Maroochydore Road and David Low Way.
Almost completed.

Caloundra Road

Upgrade of Caloundra Road to four lanes, between Bruce Highway and Pierce Avenue. New interchange at Racecourse Road.
This will provide access to the new Caloundra Regional Business and Industry Park.
Due for completion mid 2009.

Forgan Bridge replacement

Bundaberg Ring Road

Provides an alternative arterial route around Bundaberg. The road will be 14.3 km long.
Due for completion in 2009.

Regional bridge renewal

An initiative to replace all timber bridges and older concrete and steel structures in poor condition.
The renewal will take place over the next 15 to 20 years.
