Project info

The Southern Queensland Accelerated Road Rehabilitation Project (SQARRP) is replacing 31 timber bridges with new concrete bridges, in southern Queensland from Stanthorpe to north of Bundaberg.

The SQARRP involves grouping together projects to upgrade the road network, resulting in significant time and cost savings.

The bridges being replaced are on strategic road network links carrying heavy freight loads. The new bridges will be constructed to modern loading standards.

Local communities and heavy vehicle operators will benefit from safety improvements and increased load capacity. Using concrete instead of valuable hardwood timbers means Queensland's environment also benefits. The hardwood timber is being recycled wherever possible.
