Drafting and design presentation standards

The Drafting and Design Presentation Standards Manual has been reviewed. The revised structure with different chapter headings is shown.

The manual provides guidelines for the management of design quality in the planning and design of road infrastructure projects. It also sets the policy and drafting standards for presenting the design to provide a consistent interface with the road construction industry.

Its purpose is to provide the means for designers to deliver a design fit for its intended purpose comply with all legislative and corporate requirements and enhance the potential for the project to be constructed in accordance with "the design" through the supply of appropriate construction information.

Competent planners and designers should apply this manual in an intelligent way to tailor each design to the particular circumstances of a project. Variations from the requirements of the manual will require the appropriate approval.

Chapters of the Drafting and Design Presentation Standards are available from this Web site. The manual will be released in stages.
