Traffic Response Unit (TRU and TRU Max)
TRUs are a roaming “on road” service that responds to and provides quick clearance solutions and traffic control for road incidents. These include breakdowns, road crashes and spillages on Brisbane's metropolitan road network.
TRUs work closely with the Queensland Police Service and Emergency Services at incident scenes to keep the area safe and traffic moving.
TRU Max’s have a greater clean-up capability than TRUs. The TRU Max is fitted with a vacuum pump to remove spills and road debris, such as broken glass or gravel, from the road.
This service is a joint initiative of the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Brisbane City Council, and is delivered by RACQ.
