Completion of this project links the centre of Caboolture at King Street to the Caboolture bypass.

This project involves a 61 km upgrade and realignment of the Bruce Highway, including a bypass of Gympie, and is one of Queensland's highest priority road projects. It is designed to meet strategic transport needs of the Gympie Region into the future.

The final stage of the Federal government’s $361.3 million commitment to upgrade the Bruce Highway from four to six lanes from the Gateway Motorway to Caboolture.

The Caloundra-Mooloolaba Road will be a 12 km new arterial standard road connecting Caloundra Road in the south, to Mooloolaba

• four kilometres of new four lane, dual carriageway road
• a grade-separated interchange at Racecourse Road
• an overbridge to connect the local access road over the top of the main road near Jordan Street
• a roundabout at the intersection with the new Caloundra-Mooloolaba Road.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is conducting a study to prioritise future cycle infrastructure needs in the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay Regional Council areas.

A bypass of the Kilcoy township has been supported by the local community as it will redirect traffic, in particular heavy vehicles, away from the town centre.
