Project info
Works are due to commence at the start of June to upgrade Deep Channel on the Carnarvon Highway, 400 m south of Rolleston. The $1.5 million upgrade of this floodway will significantly benefit the local community and road users by providing better access to the Rolleston township during times of flooding.
The project also involves replacing the culvert and raise the height of the existing floodway to help improve flood immunity and reduce the amount of road closures.
This will enable better access to the township of Rolleston and maintain a key route for the transport industry.
