Works to realign the Calliope Range crossing on the Dawson Highway, between Calliope and Biloela.

The Dawson Highway’s steep grade and tight curves will be replaced with a new free flowing road corridor navigating the northern edge of the Calliope Range.

$70 million.

Project info

From August 2009, Main Roads will commence works to realign the Calliope Range crossing on the Dawson Highway, between Calliope and Biloela, significantly improving safety and access to the Callide Valley and surrounding region.

The Dawson Highway’s steep grade and tight curves will be replaced with a new free flowing road corridor navigating the northern edge of the Calliope Range.

Construction of the $70 million, 4.4 km section of the Dawson Highway is scheduled for completion in 2011.
