Joining forces to boost rebuilding efforts in Trinity Bay

The department's regional offices in Cairns, Townsville and Mackay joined forces to provide Trinity Bay High School in Cairns with much-needed computer equipment, following a severe fire which destroyed one of the school's buildings.

The school's four computer rooms housed more than 100 computer desktops which were destroyed in a recent fire, eliminating the school’s Information Technology studies unit.

30 computers no longer used by the Department of Transport and Main Roads were donated to assist the school with their rebuilding efforts. This meant that students were able to reconnect with much-needed access to information technology and continue with computer studies.

Helping out Trinity Bay High School information technology students is an example of how the department connects with Queensland communities in times of need. In recent years, the department has donated many computers to local schools and community groups across Queensland.
