This project involves a 61 km upgrade and realignment of the Bruce Highway, including a bypass of Gympie, and is one of Queensland's highest priority road projects. It is designed to meet strategic transport needs of the Gympie Region into the future.
Bruce Highway overpass near Normanby Bridge: GympieWide Bay /Burnett

The department is well underway with reconstruction of the Bruce Highway overpass near the Normanby bridge. 

The overpass was hit by a northbound heavy vehicle with an over-height load causing substantial structural damage.
Bruce Highway Upgrade GympieWide Bay /Burnett

Three phase project to upgrade the Bruce Highway through Gympie from south of Centro Way to Pine Street.
