Main roads AutoCAD customisation
Based on user feedback, the Point 1 (2007.1, 2008.1 and 2009.1) customisation has been improved and updated for AutoCAD 2007, 2008 and 2009, as well as AutoCAD Map 3D 2007, 2008 and 2009. It is now referred to as the Point 2 customisation (2007.2, 2008.2 and 2009.2). Please refer to the Revision History file below, for your particular version.
We expect that there will be further improvements as the new customisation gets more widely used. To help CADD Systems notify users of these updates, it would be appreciated if those who download and install the customisation would click on the following link and provide your contact details in the e-mail body: Register Contact Details.
The Main Roads AutoCAD Customisation contains tools and objects that enable the production of drawings that are in compliance with standards documented in the Department's Drafting and Design Presentation Standards Manual.
Specifically the customisation contains and implements:
- Blocks
- Dimension Styles
- Custom Hatch Patterns
- Fonts
- Layer Standards
- Linetypes
- Plan Sheets
- Table Styles
- Text Styles
These are implemented through:
- An MR Tools menu
- Tool palettes
The help file available from the MR Tools menu in AutoCAD or Start>All Programs> Main Roads Queensland Customisation\AutoCAD\2007.2 (once installed), provides detailed explanation of the content.
Removing the previous SADV02/SADV04 version of MR AutoCAD Customisation
This is not essential, as the new customisation installs to a different location. This will allow you to run the old customisation for current projects until they are completed.
- Open AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Map and remove the existing MR profiles (MR2007_SADV02 and MR2007_SADV04) from the Options panel.
- Copy all old customisation folders to a temporary folder (this is a backup).
This is suggested just in case you have created your own menus, toolbars, scripts, AutoLISP programs etc… in the customisation folders.
- Next, go to the Control Panel. Double-click on 'Add/Remove Programs'. Select MR AutoCAD Customisation from the list of applications, then click on the 'Change/Remove' button (depends on which operating system you have installed).
- Delete the old customisation folders and their contents.
- Follow the installation notes to install the new customisation.
New Customisation Installation
- Save the appropriate Installation file (e.g. MR_ACAD_2007-2.ZIP) to a local folder. For an organisation, this may be a network drive. The ZIP file contains the EXE file for the installation. If you experience download problems, contact CADD Systems to organise an alternative delivery option.
- Download the appropriate Installation Help file (e.g. MR_ACAD_2007_Cust_Install.chm) from the links below to a folder on your local drive. These CHM files will not open correctly from a network drive.
- Follow the installation instructions in the Help file.
Download
Once you have downloaded the appropriate files, check that the file size is the same as that indicated below.

System requirements
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
Note: CADD Systems does not currently have a Windows Vista environment for testing purposes, however there should be no reason that the customisation should not work. Some user rights restrictions and different folder locations, may prevent the creation of the shortcuts in All Users. If you experience this, details of the shortcut configurations are in the installation help file.
