Estimate

The ESTIMATE program is used to compile and print an estimate of cost for road or bridge construction projects. Estimates are compiled in accordance with the conventions used by the Department of Main Roads Queensland for preparing estimates. The package can also produce schedules for these projects and/or a Tender Schedules File suitable for electronic lodgement of schedule data by prospective tenderers.

The conventions for preparing estimates have been developed to meet the requirements for obtaining financial approval for projects and to support construction management including provision for the GST (Goods and Services Tax).

Licence requirements

New Estimate users require a licence to unlock the software. Install and run Estimate v4.05.09 to generate a KEY1, and then contact CADD Systems via the Service Centre for your KEY2 to enable the program.

Existing Estimate licence holders (v4.5.x) will not require a new key for this version.

What's new in Estimate v4.05.09

What's new in Estimate V4.05.09 (incorporating changes since v4.00) is available from either of two locations:

Note: The standard items database file, Stditems_08_2008.edb incorporates Amendment 3 for the Standard Specifications Roads (3rd ed) released by Contracts & Standards Branch in December 2007.

Download the new standard items database file to the Estimate program folder, then run Estimate and go to Options > Configuration > Std Items Database and set Estimate to use the new file.

Amendment 2 standard items database file (Stditems_02_2007.edb) (EDB, 69 KB)

Note: The old standard items database file, Stditems_02_2007.edb incorporates Amendment 2 for the Standard Specifications Roads (3rd Ed) released by Contracts & Standards Branch 19/2/2007.

Download the old standard items database file to the Estimate program folder, then run Estimate and go to Options > Configuration > Std Items Database and set Estimate to use the new file.

Installation

  1. Unzip the download file 'Estimate40509.zip'' to a folder on you hard drive (for example: C:\Program Loads\Estimate 40509).
  2. If you have a previous version of Estimate, go to 'Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs' and remove it.
  3. Install as Administrator or with Administrator privileges.
  4. Run "setup.exe" to install Estimate.
  5. A program group will be created for All Users — Start\Programs\ESTIMATE
