Property searches

You can search to find out if Main Roads requires your property for a road.

An Application for Information Concerning Main Roads Land Requirements for Road Purposes (form M827, or M831 for Brisbane metropolitan area) is available from your local Main Roads office.

Complete the application and return the forms to your local office along with the fees:

• $22.90 standard search (up to 10 working days to process)
• $38.60 urgent search (up to 5 working days to process).

Payment must accompany the application. Cheques should be made payable to Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Solicitors and others making numerous searches can obtain prepaid vouchers from:

The carbon-coated application should be accompanied by a suitable map or plan, if available.

• A map (SmartMap) can be ordered by email from the Department of Environment and Resource Management.
• A copy of the registered plan can be obtained from Department of Environment and Resource Management.
