Petrie Mango Hill multi modal transport corridor
Location of corridor
The Petrie-Mango Hill multi-modal transport corridor, also known as the Kallangur Bypass, runs from Gympie Road at Petrie through Kallangur and Murrumba Downs, and connects to Anzac Avenue just west of the Bruce Highway.

History
- This corridor was preserved in the late 1980s following concerns that Anzac Avenue through Kallangur would not be able to accommodate expected traffic growth.
- The corridor is adjacent to the western section of a railway corridor between Petrie and Kippa-Ring.
- Corridor preservation was based on current planning standards for a four-lane median-divided road.
Current status
A planning study for a combined road, bus and rail corridor between Petrie and Kallangur commenced in late 2006. The study is investigating the role and function of the future corridor, land requirements and improved parking at Petrie rail station. Queensland Transport is leading this study, with assistance from Main Roads.
Property acquisitions
The State of Queensland’s responsibility to provide a better and safer transport network sometimes means that privately owned land must be acquired by Main Roads or Queensland Transport for construction purposes. If your property were to be affected by proposed works, which may require formal acquisition of your property, Main Roads will send you a plan showing the approximate location and area of the land required, together with background information on the resumption scheme.
Land is typically acquired only when funds have been allocated by government for construction of a project or when a property owner requests purchase of land affected by approved Main Roads planning under the provisions set out in the Department of Main Roads hardship policy.
Until a decision to proceed with the proposed bypass is approved, no decision on whether land acquisitions are required for the project will be made.
You can find out more about property acquisitions on the Main Roads' property page, or by emailing www.propertyservices@mainroads.qld.gov.au, or calling +61 1800 806 414.
