Planning for the future
Planning for the future is a key priority to ensure Queensland's state-controlled roads connect people, places, goods and services as part of an integrated transport system. This presents many challenges and opportunities.
As roads are also managed by local government, our planning approach also ensures that we work closely with local government. This gives an additional level of assurance to the public about the future of roads.
We have a tiered approach to planning:
-
Roads Connecting Queenslanders is our long-term strategic document. The document looks at a 10 year+ horizon and details our plan for the future, our road outcomes, and how we will deliver our plan and achieve these outcomes.
- Our annual Corporate Plan provides strategic business priorities and objectives to meet the direction in Roads Connecting Queenslanders.
- Our Roads Implementation Program is our five-year program of works and details projects and expenditure across Queensland.
Our planning approach ensures that roads contribute to the Queensland Government's priorities and ambitions for the state.
We also contribute to regional infrastructure plans and programs, including the South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and Program.
